Investing in Farmland With Farmland Value Ventures
At Farmland Value Ventures, we understand the allure of a farmland investment. We also understand that the high cost of a quality farm coupled with the involved management process can be roadblocks for many investors. The mission of Farmland Value Ventures is to identify and purchase a portfolio of farmland across the Midwest and Great Plains. FVV will then manage these properties, collecting the income produced by the properties and distributing it to investors. This will allow investors to have exposure to the returns from farmland and ranchland without the large capital expenditure and difficulty of purchasing and managing it themselves.

Why Farmland?
Since the 1940s, returns on farmland have generally equaled the return on the S&P 500 but with less variation. The standard deviation of these returns have been roughly half that of the S&P 500 in that time frame. While farmland investments are often thought of as merely a hedge against inflation, this shows that they can be a lucrative source of return as well. A traditional portfolio of stock and bonds is highly correlated to the economic and political climate. Conversely, farmland is able to hold value in times of uncertainty, making it a safe and attractive investment.* Inflation tends to bolster farmland returns through rising commodity and land prices, while it often erodes the real value of stock and bond market returns, particularly fixed-income investments, making farmland an attractive hedge against inflation.

Farmland has consistently kept pace with the S&P 500 since its inception. In addition to providing an attractive rental payment, investing in farmland grows wealth and hedges inflation.
Farmland investments are significantly less volatile than than the stock market, adding stability to an investor's portfolio during times of economic downturn.

How Farmland Investing Works
Farmland investments have two sources of returns. The first is the rental income. Land is rented to farmers who pay a price, typically per acre, in exchange for the right to grow crops on the land for a season. Second is the appreciation of the land itself. Maximizing these returns requires extensive farmland management experience that we are proud to provide.
